Villa d'Este

The tour of Villa D'Este in Tivoli exposes visitors to the best in Renaissance architecture and art. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the villa was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este, and this great 17th Century villa took advantage of the dramatic sloping landscape to not only showcase fabulous views, but also to power water cascades, pools, troughs and fountains in a complex of stunning gardens.

Tivoli lies a short drive from Rome and so this tour is a relaxing day-trip away from the hussle and bussle of the capital. Previously a Benedictine monastery, Villa d'Este exudes peace and tranquility. Transport is included as part of the tour and places book up quickly.
